Although we personally feel that purple has always been “in style,” we’re still excited to see it recognized as the Pantone Color of the Year 2014! Formally known as “Radiant Orchid,” Pantone describes it as reaching:
“across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”
“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” (Source: Pantone Press Release)

Pantone 2013 Color: Emerald Green Inspiration Board
Pantone recently announced emerald green as their choice for 2013 color of the year. Described as a color that enhances our sense of “well-being, balance, and harmony”, we can’t imagine a better color to be used in upcoming weddings! There are so many ways that brides can incorporate this majestic color into a wedding. While beautiful on its own, emerald green looks great paired with baby pink tones to create a sweet, romantic feel, and also is great when matched with gold hues to give off an elegant, royal ambiance.
Emerald green can be used as a pop of color through accessories like statement earrings, a bold nail polish, or fabulous shoes, or can take center stage as the color of the bridesmaid dresses or the main color in the flower bouquets and centerpieces. There is something timeless about emerald green that would be gorgeous as a main color or accent for weddings anytime of the year. You can also incorporate this color into your daily life through fun nail polish shades or as a bold and fun eye shadow color. We can’t wait to see how brides integrate this gorgeous, rich color into their weddings in 2013!

Mint seafoam green – a fresh, flirty light pastel that’s just enough color to give your wedding venue a pop! Mint is a versatile color that works well any time throughout the year (think Christmas or Easter!) and can be paired with a variety of other colors such as mint with white, coral, gold, yellow, and black. As a popular color choice in the 1940′s and 50′s for household items such as telephones, appliances and bathroom tiles, it’s making a modern comeback as mentioned by 3d-Memoirs as one of the Top 10 hot wedding trends of 2013!
