Color of the Year 2014: Radiant Orchid
{Source: Chandelier, Wedding Dress, Sweetheart Table, Sequin Cake Table, Pantone Radiant Orchid}
Although we personally feel that purple has always been “in style,” we’re still excited to see it recognized as the Pantone Color of the Year 2014! Formally known as “Radiant Orchid,” Pantone describes it as reaching:
“across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”
“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” (Source: Pantone Press Release)
We would have to agree that with those types of traits, radiant orchid would make a stunning color theme for your wedding. From spring whimsy to a dramatic statement, our radiant orchid inspiration board will inspire you to use the purple and pink shade in unique ways. Incorporating the vibrant shade in your floral centerpieces is an eyecatching detail. But if you’re looking for an inexpensive way to use the purple color, then maybe use it in your lighting. Tons of drama without the cost! Recognize the sweetheart table? It’s from our 2012 wedding at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel! We are thrilled to share with you today a gorgeous photo shoot we styled a few months ago! With the weather starting to warm up, it is beginning to be a perfect time for outdoor weddings with light, pastel color schemes, and this is what our farm shoot was all about! Here is a peek at the inspiration behind the shoot:
This photo shoot was all about blending vintage themes with a farm feel. Organic, natural elements such as fresh fruits and vegetables and live animals fit in perfectly with the photo shoot theme “Organic Love”. We hope you enjoy the images, and find some inspiration for your spring wedding or event- whether it be the pastel colors (for the table details or bridesmaid dresses), outdoor venue, or the use of fruits and veggies as fun props! Happy spring!

Pantone 2013 Color: Emerald Green Inspiration Board
Pantone recently announced emerald green as their choice for 2013 color of the year. Described as a color that enhances our sense of “well-being, balance, and harmony”, we can’t imagine a better color to be used in upcoming weddings! There are so many ways that brides can incorporate this majestic color into a wedding. While beautiful on its own, emerald green looks great paired with baby pink tones to create a sweet, romantic feel, and also is great when matched with gold hues to give off an elegant, royal ambiance.
Emerald green can be used as a pop of color through accessories like statement earrings, a bold nail polish, or fabulous shoes, or can take center stage as the color of the bridesmaid dresses or the main color in the flower bouquets and centerpieces. There is something timeless about emerald green that would be gorgeous as a main color or accent for weddings anytime of the year. You can also incorporate this color into your daily life through fun nail polish shades or as a bold and fun eye shadow color. We can’t wait to see how brides integrate this gorgeous, rich color into their weddings in 2013!

Red, Gold, Blue Circus Wedding Inspiration
Today, Nahid and her team are on-location for an inspiration photo shoot! We will be working with this talented bunch of creative artists: Have Trunk Will Travel, Brightly Designed, Lovestruck Makeup Artistry, Justin Lee Photography, and ArtQuest Flowers and Gifts. We don’t want to reveal too much, but we think this is going to be an epic inspiration photo shoot!
Below is the foundation of our inspiration: red, gold, navy blue, and white colors come together in a circus-inspired menagerie! Very romantic and Valentine’s Day themed, our inspiration board is about mystery, love, and intrigue. We wanted to create a theme that was both whimsical and elegant at the same time. (Can you tell we’re trying to be extra vague?!) More details will be revealed later on, but we hope this circus inspiration board helps you plan out your wedding or party theme!

We came across these gorgeous pictures from Ryan McGinley for W Magazine’s January 2013 issue with model, Daria Werbowy. The editorial is titled, “Earth Angel” and we loving the look of the Ukrainian Canadian model, Daria, styled against the different earthy backdrops. This “earth angel” theme would be a great inspiration idea for a wedding! Think of the color combos of red, green, yellow, and white against textures like chiffon, silk, and tulle. Thank you to Fashion.net for sharing these photos.
So dreamy and ethereal! Perfect for a hipster bride in Los Angeles or a beachy bride in San Diego.
This is fall glamour to the max! The mix of autumn reds, yellows, and oranges, makes a for fiery and dramatic wedding look.
This is shot is just amazing with the lace dress and yellow tree leaves.
