Real Wedding: Paree and Robert

007

On Thanksgiving weekend at the San Diego Four Points by Sheraton, Paree and Robert announced their “I do’s”. Decked in beautiful orange, brown, green and hints of red, Paree and Robert celebrated their marriage with their family and friends. To cater to guests, the wedding infused elements of Afghani, Middle Eastern and American culture.

Paree and Robert met mutually through friends where they were set up on a blind date. Soon after their initial meeting at Starbucks, everything fell into place. Finally, on a rainy Superbowl Sunday, Robert took Paree to the Cabrillo Lighthouse in Point Loma. After a walk in the rain, Robert proposed to Paree.

Henna, a plant that is used for dying a variety of materials, is used in modern traditional Afghan weddings. Proceeded by the mother of the groom, the henna is placed on the bride’s palm and covered by a fine, triangular cloth. In return, the henna is placed on the groom’s pinky finger by the bride’s mother and also covered in cloth. This tradition symbolizes the union of two.

See the resemblance? Paree’s bridesmaids were her sisters!

Mint seafoam green – a fresh, flirty light pastel that’s just enough color to give your wedding venue a pop!  Mint is a versatile color that works well any time throughout the year (think Christmas or Easter!) and can be paired with a variety of other colors such as mint with white, coral, gold, yellow, and black. As a popular color choice in the 1940′s and 50′s for household items such as telephones, appliances and bathroom tiles, it’s making a modern comeback as  mentioned by 3d-Memoirs as one of the Top 10 hot wedding trends of 2013!

Bridal Fashion Week: Badgley Mischka Fall 2013 Collection

As you may know, last week was Bridal Fashion Week or New York International Bridal Week (October 12-15). Famous for their elegant, rich beading, we fell in love with Badgley Mischka’s runway collection. Their Fall 2013 inspiration was drawn from celestial elements. Their 16-piece collection was named after planets, constellations, the Greek alphabet and astrological signs such as “Venus,” “Virgo,” “Eclipse” and “Ariel.” The collection featured both slender and full gowns that were embroidered dramatically along the shoulders, torso and waist. Walking down the aisle in one of these gorgeous dresses ought to make you feel like you’re in heaven!
