This year’s WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) seminar was hosted at the legendary Park Plaza in Los Angeles, CA. Approximately a hundred guests attended the event where they learned more about the emerging gay and lesbian market. Times have changed and it’s no better time than now to address this topic. Park Plaza was decked out in bright, fun and simple spring colors while guests picked up pointers, tips and ideas for their next weddings.

Browse through the photos below to see how elaborate and EXTRA legendary Park Plaza was in February. Wish you could’ve been there!

Primary colors of red, green, and blue vases adorned with fresh florals. These centerpieces are laid on a vibrant printed table cloth that will surely catch your eye.

The combination of lime green and peachy orange complement each other – whether food or stationary!

Candles, vases, and young floral arrangements.

We’re in love with the gold metallic vase!

Food and snacks never looked so good..

WIPA at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort

001

In May of 2011, WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) held their annual seminar at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, California. Last year’s hot topic focused on Destination Weddings that WOW! With the assistance of various vendors including Pow Wow Vintage, the venue was aesthetically adorned with colorful decor of Persian rugs, Indian saris, assorted pillows, vintage trunks as well as benches, lounges and gorgeous glass ware. These elements were located throughout areas including the Avalon Ballroom, Avalon Courtyard, Lower Palm Courtyard and the main stage.

Take a look at these wonderful photos to get a sense of the look and feel.

Vintage wicker chairs and a bench decorated with Indian sari.

Brass and glass coffee table paired with a vintage Indian daybed and a golden elephant table on the side.

Do you spot Nahid? Pstt… she’s the one in red! :)

Gold Chivari chairs with white cushions accented the patterned table with vintage water goblets.

Elaborate centerpieces consisted of gold lanterns with candles intermixed amongst lush white flowers.

Aside from the elaborate design, the night was action packed with speeches, singing, belly dancing, coffee, desserts, an espresso bar, hookah lounge and ice cream bar. Who said seminars were boring? Cheers to a beautiful and successful event, WIPA!

WIPA Seminar at Pelican Hills Resort

Last week, our Creative Manager, Buu, had the amazing opportunity to attend WIPA – Wedding Industry Professionals Association marketing seminar at the breathtaking  Pelican Hills Resort in Newport Beach, CA. Not only were we able to pick up great tips on how to better reach more beautiful brides (like yourself!), but we were treated to lush scenery, and delicious gourmet that went beyond our expectations. If you’re considering a destination wedding in Orange County or Newport Beach, we highly recommend considering the Pelican Hills Resort!

To give you an idea of how classy the day was, here are snapshots of the WIPA seminar. The theme was an elegant vintage-esque style that paired blush tones like peach and pink, with delicate and clean decor.

Our favorite part of the day? Entering the ballroom and being greeted with this stunner! A hanging wedding cake chandelier! So gorgeous :)

The florist who created this is Nisie’s Enchanted Florist, while Pelican Hills Resort provided the wedding cake.

We think the elegant vintage look and style would make for a lovely wedding or bridal shower theme. Hope this inspires you!

WIPA Event at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa

In May of 2010, WIPA held a seminar on photography–from the eyes of a photographer to everything you need to know about working with a photographer. The event was held at the Rancho Valencia Resort and the theme was “hacienda style. ” We had The Troubadours playing live music at the day long event. For our “cocktail hour” we served breakfast items and coffee. Lunch was a salad with salmon, and non-alcoholic passion fruit cocktails by Joes on the Nose (did you know they make drinks other than coffee?!)

It was an amazing event filled with great speakers and attendees!

These chiavari chairs are so cute and delicate, there’s no need for chair covers.

There’s Nahid! :)
